Jun 11, 2026

UU Growth Lab friends,

The replay of our June 9, 2026, live session Turn Your Congregation's YouTube Channel into a Visitor Welcome Center is now available in our member area with a limited-time guest replay.  I'll share details on July's session shortly. That's about volunteer culture.  Anyone looking for more volunteers?   I thought so!  😉

Guests:  Short-term replay is available thru Saturday. Learn how your congregation can join the UU Growth Lab as a team.  Need guest access? Get access here.

This session is informing the member training I'm making for you, incorporating questions and more of what was most helpful. Have UU related YouTube questions?  Ask away!  I'll weave as many as I can into the new training.

About this session

Most congregations are treating YouTube like an archive. Today’s visitors are increasingly using it as part of their research process. Before people attend a congregation, they often watch worship clips, search for sermons, look up ministers, and try to get a feel for whether a community is a good match for them.

We can use YouTube to offer newcomers the content and experience they need to say YES to visiting.

In this session, we focused specifically on how to transform your congregation’s YouTube presence into a practical tool for newcomer welcome, discernment, and membership development.

We explore how visitors actually use YouTube, what kinds of videos help visitors, how to use titles, descriptions, thumbnails, chapters, and playlists strategically. A deeply practical session focused on supporting the online visitor experience with your existing content.

Next:  The On-Demand Training

As always, the follow-up member training I'm making will incorporate what I learned from the live session questions and cover even more of what participants found most helpful.  The live session is part of my research process and helps refine the on-demand training.   These trainings are available via video, audio podcast, text/transcript, and include takeaway notes.

Congregational Teams may present content and share materials within their congregation's leadership.
